Originální anglická četba Born Eric Arthur Blair in 1903, George Orwell is one of the most prolific and brilliant writers - and letter writers - of the twentieth century. Peter Davidson's collection is the first to bring together this particular selection of letters, and includes a number that have not been published before. Through this sometimes-political but often highly intimate correspondence, readers gain an intriguing glimpse into Orwell's personal life. The letters touch on a wide range of subjects: Orwell's childhood, his adventures and tribulations during the Spanish Civil War, his marriage to Eileen, the birth of his son, and his affairs with other women. Peter Davidson was appointed OBE in 1999 for his services to English literature and he has published widely in the fields of drama, cultural studies, biography and George Orwell.
